Tell me who you are, where you’re from and a little bit

about the injury what you went through

My name is Rachel Wilson, I am from New Jersey. I own a CrossFit gym in Wayne, NJ called Terrain Fitness. I have been doing CrossFit for almost 10 years and have made CrossFit my career for almost 4 years now. I had hip surgery in 2015, with recurring hip pain in 2018. I recently had shoulder pain from some overuse training for a competition.

Tell me about your Myokinetix Performance and Recovery experience

– what have you gotten out of coming to see us

I’ve learned that not all PTs are alike. You need to find a PT that fits your needs and goals. I needed someone more sports specific that knew about how I trained day in and out with CrossFit. I have learned to move better overall and how to engage proper muscles when training.

Tell me what you love most about Myokinetix and why?

I love how they don’t waste your time. They let you know that they can help you get better in fewer appointments then a normal PT and it’s true! They are constantly checking in on you. They also rehab you by using the movements that you are doing everyday!

Tell me about the challenges you were facing prior to coming to Myokinetix Performance and Recovery?

I was in pain and didn’t know how to address it. I automatically thought I needed to quit CrossFit and do something a little less stressful. I also didn’t know how to warm up and cool down properly before and after training.

How long did you wait to come and see us – and why?

I didn’t wait very long. I know that when something hurts, it’s smarter to address it right away then let it get worse. I got a great referral from a fellow CrossFitter and it didn’t take me long to find my way into the office.

How did you know it was time to do something different?

When I couldn’t do the things I wanted to do without experiencing pain.

What was your big goal of coming to Myokinetix Performance and Recovery – and how did we help you achieve it?

My biggest goal was to be able to CrossFit without pain. I wanted to feel stronger and more confident when lifting knowing that I was safe and healthy. Myokinetix helped me learn how to use muscles I wasn’t using and helped me gain strength in those areas that were unstable.

Why was your Myokinetix Performance and Recovery Experience

worth the time and money?

I was better faster. Myokinetix understood what I needed to do in order to get better and gave me the appropriate rehab exercises to do for a CrossFitter. They use your everyday movements as rehab!

Did you have any reservations about coming to see us –

prior to saying yes?

The cost was a big factor. I knew that my insurance wasn’t going to pay for it.

How do you feel about that decision now?

Best decision ever. I was better quicker and in fewer visits. I saved time and in the long run money because once i went i didn’t need to go back for the same issue again.

What do you want other people to know about Myokinetix Performance and Recovery that only they could understand if they’re nervous/skeptical/or have been let down in the past?

I want them to know that Myokinetix isn’t like any other PT. They listen and don’t get their rehab exercises from a book that they got in PT school or off a print out that the doctor gave them. They use real life scenarios to rehab you so you can get that movement pattern stronger and better. They are worth every single cent if you care about your health and your body.

What was the MOST valuable takeaway from your experience?

That you can get better and stronger with PT.

What advice would you give to other people that are currently going through what you went through and are looking to come to Myokinetix Performance and Recovery?

JUST DO IT! You won’t regret it!
